SC Amforça is the international basketball club and sports association for children and teenagers in and around The Hague. Our focus is on providing high quality skills training and development to help young athletes reach their full potential. With teams in various age categories, we strive to create a well-rounded and successful basketball experience for our members.
Empowering Youth through Basketball
SC Amforça has been a club since September 2023 and already, it is the basketball club in The Hague for children and young players, who want to learn and play basketball in an inclusive and international environment. Our sports association is dedicated to providing top-notch training and development for children and teenagers. Our focus is on creating a positive and nurturing environment for young athletes to learn and grow in the sport of basketball. We offer a variety of programs, including our highly acclaimed Basketball Academy, where players can receive specialized skills training from experienced coaches. Our teams, ranging from U16 to U10, compete in the official NBB basketball leagues. At SC Amforça, we not only strive for success on the court, but also prioritize character development and teamwork. About us in short
How it started
Amforça is initially a sports provider since 2011 for after school programmes, holiday sports camps and after school care. In September 2023, SC Amforça was founded to play competition basketball.
Founders
The association was founded by Edgar da Costa, Vicente Paniagua and Ralf Forster in September 2023.
First team
The 1st team of SC Amforça was an U12 team. The club started with 9 active members in January 2024 in the NBB competition and made their first experiences with playing against other teams.
2nd Season
For season 2024/2025, SC Amforça was playing with an U10 team and with an U14 team, so two active teams. Mid season the U10 team was switched to U12, because some players were too old to play, although most players were actually still U10.
3rd Season
In their 3rd season (2025/2026), SC Amforça increased the number of teams and had a 3rd team in the club. Next to a very young U16 team with 13 to 16 year old players, the U10 and U12 teams were up and running successfully as well.
Future
Development of skills, personality and having respect for each other are main pillars in the concept of SC Amforça and we are looking forward to what is ahead. From season 2026/2027 SC Amforça has a U10, U12, U14 and U16 team.
